Porridge: Inside Out
As Gold gears up for the brand new and exclusive Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais series next month, here's another chance to see this UKTV Original, which goes behind the scenes of Slade prison to provide rarely seen material and classic sketches.
From the pilot episode and the Christmas specials to the spin-off follow up, Porridge: Inside Out, tells the real story behind the series that left an indelible mark on British comedy. Viewers will also hear from former cast members including Christopher Biggins (Lukewarm), Sam Kelly (Warren), Tony Osoba (Jock McClaren) and Dudley Sutton (Rudge) as they reminisce and re-live the moments that helped make the series iconic.
Viewers will also be taken on a tour of the pivotal places that Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais visited during the creation and development of the series, including the pub where they first met, the prisons they researched, and the little-known filming locations they used.
Each meticulously researched documentary will reveal little-known secrets - including how the series nearly never happened and how Richard Beckinsale was not the first choice to play Lenny Godber - while specially commissioned graphics and 3D animation will also help bring alive the corridors and cells of Slade.
