Get a good idea of TV's strengths:
Ask yourself:
- Can my brand advertise on TV? See Clearcast Guidelines for restrictions
- Who is my audience? 16-34s, ABC1s, Male, Female
- How much do I want to spend reaching them?
- What's the campaign's goal – brand awareness or direct response?
Where, how long, how much?
- Do I want my advert on Channel 4 (nationally or regionally? Check out our Macro Map for details), E4, More4, Film4, 4Music, Box Channels (Kerrang, Magic, Kiss, Box, Q, Smash Hits) online or on Video on Demand?
- How long will my advert be? 30 seconds is the norm, but multiples of 10 are available
- Do I have an advertising agency?
- Do I have an advert already made?

All commercials sent to Channel 4 must be supported by copy rotation instructions. These must include product name, clock numbers, channel and areas of transmission, campaign dates and if more than one commercial of the same length, how you wish them to be used. Send instructions to
