We asked Film4 viewers what their favourite ad of 2008 was and they told us

We created a great TV trail to ask viewers to vote for their favourite from a shortlist of 12 long form ads (60 seconds or longer). The list was created by a panel of advertising experts including creative directors, advertisers, media and advertising agencies. The experts chose the ads they thought the most creative, filmic and that tell great stories.

The viewer competition proved overwhelmingly popular and there emerged a resounding winner, Hovis, and two highly commended ads, Boots and Sony. The director of the winning ad, Ringan Ledwidge (Rattling Stick), will be interviewed for a solus Director’s Cut ad break which will also include a full showing of the 122 second ad. Tx TBC.
