Grand National 2013

6th April 2013 saw Channel 4's first ever broadcast and coverage of The Grand National. The broadcast sponsor, Dubai, wanted to mark this huge live event and capitalise on the colossal 9million strong audience with a message that was original, relevant and celebratory.

A bespoke sponsorship ident was created and transmitted in the break soon after the race - congratulating the winner by name, and integrating the individual colours of the jockey silks so that, as the victor was announced, the viewers enjoyed a very special and personal bumper.

The result was a creative execution that was absolutely pertinent to an exceptional, singular moment in the sporting calendar
