Competition: PlayStation Uncharted 4

PlayStation came to us wanting to launch their new game, Uncharted 4, with a bang. The game already had great OOH, TV and Online support but they wanted something that would get everyone really excited about the game right before its UK release.

 

We worked with The Outfit, PlayStation and Manning Gottleib OMD to create a live competition complete with a bespoke introduction using the C4 blocks made by 4creative. The creative showcased the amazing graphics and cinematic feel of the game as well as asking the c4 viewers to tweet during an episode of one of most popular shows, Gogglebox.

 

It was teased with 5” top and tail spots running two days before and on the day of the competition. We then had a 20” reminder spot play out in the first break of Gogglebox, followed by a break takeover in the second showing 180” of exclusive Uncharted4 content created especially by NaughtyDog, the US based game developer. The viewers were then asked a question based on what they had seen and had five minutes to enter, with the winner to be revealed live during the last ad break.

 

The competition received an unprecedented amount of entries, with over 25,000 people tweeting #uncharted4live within the five minutes, with 8000 in the first minute alone. We had over 36,000 tweets on the night and trended above the UK Mayoral election during the evening.
