To promote hotly anticipated film Wolfman, Universal Pictures worked with Channel 4 to create a very special ad break across all Channel 4 stations and all seven jointly-owned music channels. The break went out on 30 January on a full moon.

Channel 4 scheduled horror classic Pitch Black and 100 Greatest Scary Movies to coincide with the break.

Viewers were treated to exclusive movie previews and backstage interviews two weeks before the film release.

To increase awareness Channel 4 broadcast 10” teaser spots that were broadcast through the week prior to the special break.

The effect was captured on Twitter with loads of positive comments. Over 2.6m viewers watched the break.

Universal Pictures considered it such a success that they immediately rebooked for their next release.
